I haven't had that much fun at a con since I dunno when. Holy cow. Cannot brain at y'all the amount of awesome. I met so many people and made so many friends. And apparently sleepwalked myself right out of my hotel room and got locked out lol.

Okay, Anime Central is in just a couple of days and I'm in a whirlwind of finishing up new prints for it. But I had to take time out to say this.

I am so mad that *Yamita's painting got marked mature.

What is mature about it? She has nipple-less boobs that are painted over with a mahi mahi's patterning. This is mature content?

Well if that's mature content then MY MANGA WHICH IS TARGETED AT AGES 8 AND UP IS ALSO MATURE CONTENT. Because it is FILLED with pages and pages and pages of the exact same thing!

DA, are you going to go through and mark my mermaids as 18+ now? It says ages 8 and up on the back cover and they ain't any different than Yamita's mermaid there.

Seriously DA, mods, whoever flagged that. It is not mature content. It is perfectly safe for kids to see. It's like my editors said a long time ago, the mermaid is half-animal, so she's naturally covered by her own markings.


EDIT: Okay, calmed down a bit. Thank you everyone for the support , I've been talking to Yamita and she's not so upset anymore.

Boy it must be awfully hard to be a mod, everybody's always getting mad at everything you do. I think it would be good if there could be some kind of peer jury system that lets us contest stuff like this, because I think what makes most people upset is the uneven treatment everybody gets on account of each individual mod's choices.

My wedding is in less than three months. We're on a budget so to save money I'm handmaking almost everything. (Also because I want it really personalized.)

Two, not one but two conventions next month. (Saboten-Con and Anime Central.) Trying to do conprep at the same time.

On top of all that I really need to finish my portfolio to apply to that job. If I don't get that done soon it may not be there after the cons.

So all of this is buzzing in my head at once, making me panic a little. There just aren't enough hours in the day. Those fanart prints I wanted to do may get shoved back to low priority.

Thank you to everyone who showed up at my book signing! ^____________^ It went well. It wasn't horribly empty and lonely but a busy saturday, plus I got a decent drawing of Azuri done that I think I'll turn into a poster. Sunflowers.

So my fiance is flying to Savannah this weekend. Whyfor? To do a presentation on working in the video game industry for the SCAD kids! *I so proud* He's giving a lecture tonight and a workshop tomorrow. Yuuuuuy. That's so very cool to me that SCAD invited him to come to that.

Naturally, this meant he had to fly from illinois to georgia. Since we live in a tiny town that still manages to have an airport, flying from here automatically adds $100 to any airplane ticket. To avoid that Matt had them book a flight out of the next town over. So this morning we had to drive an hour. Not too bad really.

Except for the part where the car stalled.

At least it stalled at a red light and started up again pretty easily. But it's an old car and is long overdue to just completely fall apart, and poor Matt was frantically rushing around trying to make sure I'd be able to call a towtruck on the way home. Then we discovered one of the tires was nearly flat, so we were rushing around asking people where a gas station was so I could fill it.

Well, we got Matt checked in, I managed to find a gas station and fill the tire, then of course I got lost on the way back to the highway. Had to stop and ask for directions. I always get lost by myself.

On the way back the car stalled 1.5 times, both when braking to a stop. Wee. And when I finally got inside with groceries and sat down at the computer the internet was out. Greeeeat.

So I go to check the cable box to see if the signal was spotty.

No cable.

NO CABLE WHAT!

After digging through piles of mail I discovered to my dismay we hadn't paid our cable bill in over two months. They shut it off on us! I had thought Matt was paying it, and he must have thought I was paying it. What an oversight. Well I paid the humongous bill over the phone and thankfully service was restored before I hung up.

Lulz. Adventures. I've maintained a pretty good mood despite it all, which I'm happy about. 'Cause I tell you what all that travelling to and from SCAD taught me loads about shit that happens during travelling. It could have been a lot worse.
